Working with MEGATOP, the yodj team developed a musical direction and supplied finished playlists for the client’s own equipment. The campaign introduced a specific brief: bring in Belarusian cultural motifs while keeping the sound appropriate for contemporary stores.
From a cultural idea to musical references
The work began with trial compositions and reference discussions. The team explored how recognisable cultural elements could sit alongside a modern electronic foundation. Initial examples were used to agree the direction before developing the repertoire.
Original compositions by the team
Cymbaly, gusli, accordions and violins carried Belarusian motifs in contemporary arrangements. The foundation included melodic house, indie house and deep house. These pieces were created by the team specifically for the client; the case does not attribute all authorship to one individual.
A working playlist for the stores
Original pieces became part of a broader playlist alongside selected works by other artists. Finished selections were delivered by link for playback on the client’s equipment. This case concerns music production and selection, rather than implementation of the current yodj platform.
